Everything you need to know about setting up and using Range PRO

Rocket Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with Range PRO in 5 minutes

Step 1: Download the App

Download Range PRO from the Apple App Store on your iPhone (iOS 15.6+)

Free trial: 2 weeks with full feature access

Step 2: Add Your First Camera

Option A: Scan QR code at your shooting range (instant setup)

Option B: Manually enter camera details:

  • RTSP URL (e.g., rtsp://admin:password@192.168.1.100:554/stream1)
  • Camera name
  • ONVIF port (optional, for PTZ control)

Step 3: View Your Target

  • Tap the camera to open live view
  • Video will start streaming automatically
  • Audio is muted by default

Step 4: Enable AI Detection

  • Tap the target icon to enable bullet hole detection
  • AI will automatically highlight detected bullet holes
  • Green = high confidence (>80%)
  • Yellow = medium confidence (50-80%)

Step 5: Use Advanced Features

  • Pinch to zoom up to 5x
  • Tap PTZ button to control camera position (if supported)
  • Tap screen to show/hide controls
  • Double-tap to quick zoom

Multi-Camera Multi-Camera Management

Adding Cameras:

  1. Tap "+" button on main screen
  2. Choose "Scan QR Code" or "Enter Manually"
  3. Fill in camera details
  4. Tap "Save"

Switching Cameras:

Return to main screen and tap different camera to switch views

Deleting Cameras:

  1. Swipe left on camera in list
  2. Tap "Delete"

Zoom Zoom and Pan

Pinch-to-Zoom:

  • Use two fingers to pinch outward (zoom in) or inward (zoom out)
  • Zoom range: 1x to 5x
  • Works on any camera

Pan When Zoomed:

  • Use one finger to drag the view
  • Moves the zoomed viewport around the video

Reset Zoom:

  • Tap the reset button (circular arrow)
  • Returns to 1x zoom instantly

AI Detection AI Bullet Hole Detection

Enabling Detection:

  1. Tap target icon button
  2. Detection starts automatically
  3. Green outline = detection active

Understanding Detection:

  • Green boxes = high confidence (>80%)
  • Yellow boxes = medium confidence (50-80%)
  • Red boxes = low confidence (<50%)
  • Percentage shows detection confidence
  • Only detections >70% confidence shown

Best Results:

  • Use high-contrast targets (white/black)
  • Ensure good lighting
  • Use 1080p camera or better
  • Keep camera stable
  • Frame target to fill view

Note: Detection runs every 0.5 seconds automatically. Current accuracy: 80% in good conditions. We are intensively working on improvements - enhanced accuracy and new features coming soon!

PTZ Control PTZ Camera Control

Checking PTZ Support:

  • PTZ button appears if camera supports ONVIF
  • If no PTZ button, camera doesn't support remote control

Using PTZ Controls:

  1. Tap PTZ button to show control overlay
  2. Touch and hold directional buttons:
    • Up/Down = Tilt camera
    • Left/Right = Pan camera
    • +/- = Zoom camera lens
  3. Release button to stop movement
  4. Tap PTZ button again to hide controls

Note: Some cameras only support tilt (up/down) movement

Supported Protocols

  • Video: RTSP
  • Codec: H.264 video, AAC audio
  • Control: ONVIF Profile S (PTZ)
  • Resolution: 720p min, 1080p recommended

Camera Requirements

Minimum:

  • RTSP streaming support
  • H.264 video codec
  • 720p resolution
  • Network connectivity

Recommended:

  • 1080p or 4MP resolution
  • ONVIF Profile S support
  • Low-light / night vision
  • Weatherproof (outdoor ranges)
